JD's Scottish Country Dance page
There are many pages "out there" defining and covering very well what Scottish Country Dance is and isn't so please don't expect THE treatise on it here! SCD is fun or I wouldn't have spent as much time as I did on it.
I danced regularly for a few years with the VISCDS (Vancouver Island SCD Society), which is a Victoria club and occasionally with the Victoria 'Branch' - RSCDS (Royal Scottish Country Dance Society.) Both are allied with the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society - Edinburgh, Scotland.
Some SCD links:
- Victoria Joint Scottish Council. While defunct (as of end 2012) if you happen to visit their site drop them a line and ask why they're using my family's plaid (tartan) as a background image! <grin>
- Royal Scottish Country Dance Society - Edinburgh - members site
- The Strathspey Server - A fabulous hub of links, assists, lists, etc.
- Inter-city Scot an online compendium of North American Scottish cultural events
Some Other Links
Here are a few interesting, almost related pages folks might enjoy.
- The Woad Page. Feeling "blue"? Get back to your "roots". Actually to your leaves, petals & stems. "Oh, Woad is me!"
