Congratulations to all of you! Welcome to the four newcomers, Janice, Terry,
Peggy and Donna. Special thanks to our
veterans; Alice, Debra, Sev, Mike and Ella for their
continued support, and a farewell to Jennifer, Valerie, Kevin and Brian who
have chosen to leave us this year. At
the present time, there is still the possibility of recruiting one more new
member as we have one vacant position.
The Board of Directors will be meeting on a monthly basis and anyone
wishing to address an issue, suggestion, or concern with the Board should
contact the Senior’s Advisory Committee, the Consumer Representative, or speak
to the ED.
Mother’s Day Brunch: Wow!
This type of fund-raising seems to appeal to everyone and it was
fabulous to see so many family members turn out for the occasion. It was very successful, with more than $1000
being collected in revenues and donations.
Thanks for your financial support and my heartfelt thanks to all those
who volunteered their Saturday to help out!
Caregiver Support/Information Group: The next gathering is planned for June 14th from 3 to 5 p.m.
Newcomers are always welcome so let everyone know that this program is
available and if necessary a case manager can arrange home support for your
loved one.
The moment I have been dreading... The time has come for me
to bid each of you a fond farewell. I
started working for Renfrew-Collingwood Seniors' Society in February 1994 and I
can clearly remember telling Audrey (West Coast Mom) that I would probably stay
around for a couple of years and then move on as usual. Well, this place and all of you have been
anything but “usual” and I stayed, and stayed, and stayed and I know that my
heart will never actually leave. However, physically it is time for me to
wander on my way. I will forever treasure the laughter, the
tears, and the love that made each day here special and I thank all of you for
being such an important part of my life.
There will be several chapters in my ‘Book of Life’ dedicated to the
staff, the volunteers and the seniors of Ren-Coll. So…when you hear a Harley going by, laugh at
a good “blonde” joke, groan at a horrible pun, or hear someone say “is it Miller
time yet?” – think of me, smile, and know that you are in my heart.
always –
Shell-Lee and Shadow
