The accuracy of the prices of this book have often come into attack in recent years, though it probably does serve as a passable indicator on how kind the years are to various books

The book is probably most interesting for the articles that accompany every volume and some of the raw data such as first appearances and publication dates. Even here you have to be careful (until recently, every year Brainiac 5 is listed as a hero group) but even so enough of the information is accurate enough that for general use to look up data it's helpful, as long as you don't assume it has to be the gospel truth.
