RUN: 4 issues 1984
KEY CREATORS: Bill Mantlo
(writer),
George Freeman (artist)
OUTLINE: Jack learns the true
story
about his origin
STANDOUT/DUD ISSUES: None spring
to mind
OVERALL: I think it says a great
deal of my impression of the story that I bought #1-3, then didn't bother
to buy #4 until over a decade later. The basic plot is okay, but the
script
didn't really grab me and the art, while passable wasn't terribly
memorable.
RECOMMENDED OR NOT? Unless maybe
you're a die-hard Jack of Hearts fan (or maybe supporting character Marcy
Kane, who'd appeared a few times previously), I'd pass
CONTINUITY NOTES: Nothing to add,
