TRANSFORMERS
RUN: 81 issues, only the earliest
being
Marvel Universe
KEY CREATORS: Perhaps fortunately
for them I don't remember
OUTLINE: Good robots that could
change their form (Autobots) fight bad robots that could change their
forms
(Decepticons)
STANDOUT ISSUE: None
DUD ISSUE: I'm sure there were
ones, but none come to mind
OVERALL: Another series I don't
know why I used to buy. Luckily I dropped it not long after it went
ongoing
(though I did subsequently read some later issues). The family the
Autobots
met somehow interested me in the mini, but not in the ongoing. Once the
family gets dropped the series becomes even less interesting.
Do read the cover joke in the final
issue, easily the best part of the entire run.
RECOMMENDED OR NOT? No.
Boring.
CONTINUITY NOTES: The earliest
issues seemed to be in continuity (Spider-Man appeared in the mini, the
Savage land appeared in the ongoing). In order to allow team-ups with the
non-canonical GI Joe, Marvel
Universe continuity was eventually
dropped.
No loss to the Marvel-U, really.
