- The Rosetta Disk Project
(The Long Now Foundation). This project is an ambitious undertaking to
establish a "near permanent archive" of 1,000 languages in online and hardcopy
formats (micro-etched nickel disk and a book). Volunteer contributions to the
language archive are welcome. The archive can be searched or browsed a variety
of ways. The Long Now Foundation itself promotes a 10,000 year perspective on
time-telling and information preservation. Date added: 2001.08.22.
