Even-numbered pages given the name and designer of the fonts, and the facing page uses those fonts in some saying, usually related to writing or creativity. Why ugly fonts? We have had grunge rock and grunge fashion (complete with the "stupid" look): now, apparently, we have grunge typography. Williams includes an excerpt from an essay justifying the value of "breaking all the rules." Ugly, of course, is in the eye of the beholder. For those whose lives are not complete if they haven't completely filled their disk with font files, the book includes a diskette with nineteen shareware and three freeware fonts. copyright Robert M.
