This book proves that reality is often more interesting. The current work contains more science fiction and less personal anecdote than "Computer Tales of Fact and Fantasy" (cf. BKCMPTFF.RVW), and the fiction can definitely get monotonous. It is also said that strawberries (and radishes) all have the same amount of flavour. The small ones are tastier and the bigger ones are, well bland. So it is with this larger collection of stories. There are some gems, like the lyrical and provocative, if ultimately disappointing, "See Spot--See Spot Run"; the somewhat unusual "Big Silver Human"; and the whimsical "College: A Technological Nightmare in 300 Words". Most, however, have the usual scenario of "computer-takes-over-the-world" or some (minor) variation thereon. copyright Robert M.
