It is well researched, although the careful reader will be aware of glosses in places. Overall it is a readable and balanced account of a fascinating life. What gets it into this series, though, is the treatment of Einstein's theories. Here Brian does not do anywhere near as well. The technical aspects are very poorly explained, probably because the author did not, himself, understand them. Most of the coverage of the theories is on the order of "So-and-so stated", "it was later said", or "newspaper reporters described it as". copyright Robert M.
