It also isn't about C programming, shell programming, or system administration. Which still leaves a lot of ground to cover, but nonetheless makes it hard to say what the book *is* about. There is some history, and some programming. There is some information on (presumably "not-other") UNIX books. There are some tips and tricks and trivia. Don't take all of it as gospel: there are errors aplenty. No, this book is not for everyone, nor is it really a guide. It is possibly amusing for those who know the system but haven't attained guru status yet. copyright Robert M.
