There have been both MS-DOS and UNIX versions of "power tools" sets.  Those
works were primarily disks of software, with accompanying books giving the
documentation.  This book is substantially different.

There are pocket reviews of about 250 utilities listed in the book.  Topics
covered include Finder and System, menu and windows, fonts, application
managers, configuration and performance, file tracking, copy programs,
compression, disk management, security, address books, schedulers, writing and
printing, file conversion, interface customization, and sound.  An (incomplete)
contact list is included as only 37 of the utilities are supplied on the two
double density disks.

For those who have no access to online or user group advice or software
supplies, this may be a handy reference for an initial assessment of utility
software.
