This is intended as a student textbook for teaching the use of Microsoft Office
Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint applications.  It uses a lock-step, field
independent approach.  Teacher's guides and ancillary materials are also
available.
 
The basic aspects of the programs are covered, with an emphasis on formatting
and presentation.  The vast majority of functions in all applications must be
ignored, given the approach and the space it requires.  The "new Internet
project" for this edition consists only of a chapter with brief descriptions of
Internet applications.  (There isn't even an attempt to save a Word file in
text format for transmission as an email message.)
