Dr. Harold Joseph Highland, FICS, FACM, DPE
One of the "grand old men" of data security,
Harold Joseph
Highland
was founder and, for many years, editor of the prestigious "Computers
and
Security" magazine, and is still Editor-in-Chief Emeritus. He was a
National
Lecturer on computer security for the ACM (Association for Computing
Machinery) while they still did that, Fellow of the Irish Computer
Society
(FICS), Fellow of ACM (FACM), Life Member of IEEE, Technical Advisor
for
Computer Security for the Chinese Computer Association, PRC (Beijing),
and a
prolific author with over 28 titles to his credit. He once published
an
encyclopedia. (No, that last is not a joke.)
Specific to the virus research field, he is the author of the
"Computer Virus Handbook", the first really
accurate book on the topic.
