The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada is the parent organization for 22
centres across Canada.  National membership averages 3,000, made up of
both amateurs and professional astronomers.  Victoria's Centre was formed
in 1914.  Membership averages 120.

Activities include:
regular monthly meetings
educational programmes to promote public awareness of Astronomy and space
science
programmes for school children and youth organizations
telescope making
regular observing sessions to study various astronomical objects

Members of the public are invited to attend any of the monthly meetings as
guests.

The meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month from September
to June at 7:30 pm on the lower floor of the Elliott Building Annex on the
University of Victoria campus.
