FYI:
The IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) has an
initiative called the Humanitarian Technology Challenge
(http://www.ieeehtc.org/about/). One of the challenges is Data Connectivity=
:
=B3easy exchange of data in real-time, or near-real time, among Rural Distric=
t
Health offices and to/from central health facilities, in order to share
information about individual patients, breakouts of diseases, effective
treatment protocols, supply inventories, and more=B2
(https://www.engineeringforchange.org/workspace/view/235/1#tabs=3D/workspace/=
a
ctivities/235/1).
I have attached a PDF document describing the Data Connectivity of Rural
Health Offices. A very interesting read, particularly the example section o=
n
the UC Berkley solution. The guidelines address both function, cost and
deployment and maintenance.
