As part of a major initiative which is just now starting (I'll be doing
up an introduction to it in a later message) we need to come up with a
French translation of the term "community informatics".

I'm wondering if there is a term in general use already. I've had this
discussion several times with various colleagues with objections being
made to the obvious translations (informatique communautaire for
example) as having the wrong nuance... but I can't recall and haven't
seen any standardized alternative.

Any suggestions offered would be greatly appreciated.

Best.

Mike
