embership as such. However, you are Chair of an ALS that belongs to the NA=
RALO. If your ALS is part of the NARALO, you cannot be an individual rep w=
ith the RALO at the same time. Just clarifying!

I am also an individual member of ICANN and therefore received the same ann=
ouncement that Garth shared with the group.
I have already indicated my interest to Glenn and Evan who are involved wit=
h the group wanting to see a Canadian ISOC chapter.
Given that the group doesn't seem to have any objection I will identify mys=
elf as a member of TC when I complete the survey.
Is there enough interest in the various regions to have regional chapters, =
not just a national one?

The Internet Society is exploring the possible creation of new ISOC Chapter=
s in Canada, either as province/territory based Chapters or as a larger Cha=
pter. The motivation for this is to provide enhanced opportunities for ISOC=
members to become involved in issues important to their local community. Y=
ou might be aware that there is only one ISOC Chapter in Canada, namely in =
Qu=E9bec (http://www.isocquebec.org), at the moment. Other ISOC Chapters in=
Canada went dormant and were closed.
The good news is that a new group has emerged looking into the formation of=
a new Chapter in Canada (see http://isoccanada.pbworks.com).
WE NEED YOUR HELP
This email is a request for "Expressions of Interest" and to invite you to =
help us create more Internet Society Chapter(s) in Canada. I would thus lik=
e to invite you to complete a short survey before Dec 16, 2012 :

If you are interested, you should be able to spend some time as a volunteer=
helping to shape the future for the Internet Society's Chapter activities =
in Canada. This means taking part in discussions and (online)-meetings that=
cover what role the Chapter should have in Canada, what activities it shou=
ld undertake to advance the ISOC mission, how it can best serve it's member=
ship and how it can become a true 'multi-stakeholder' group. It takes time =
and effort to run a successful Chapter and a strong team is therefore neede=
d, ideally composed of individuals from many different stakeholder organiza=
tions.
FYI, this email has been sent to all Internet Society members in Canada, in=
cluding members of the ISOC Qu=E9bec Chapter as their feedback is equally i=
mportant.

ew ISOC Chapters in Canada, either as province/territory based Chapters or =
as a larger Chapter. The motivation for this is to provide enhanced
opportunities for ISOC members to become involved in issues important to t=
heir local community. You might be aware that there is only one I=
SOC Chapter in Canada, namely in Qu=E9bec (<a href=3D"http://www.isocquebec=
.org">http://www.isocquebec.org</a>), at the moment.
Other ISOC Chapters in Canada went dormant and were closed. </span><=

and (online)-meetings that cover what role the Chapter should have in Cana=
da, what activities it should undertake to advance the ISOC mission, how it=
can best serve it’s membership and how it can become a true =
216;multi-stakeholder’ group. It takes time and effort
to run a successful Chapter and a strong team is therefore needed, ideally=
composed of individuals from many different stakeholder organiza=
