Hello advisors. I have registered to attend CIRA's 3rd annual Canadian =
Internet Forum which takes place on Thurs. Feb. 28 (see below). Sadly, =
I teach a class on Thurs. evenings, so I won't be able to stay for the =
post forum schmooze which is always the most useful part for me at such =
meetings.
I'd like to encourage any of you who can to attend virtually. They do =
pay a lot of attention to what is coming in on-line. Questions and =
comments are always streaming prominently on large screens in the room. =
So, please register if it is at all possible for you to attend some of =
this. It certainly would be good if someone other me could ask =
questions about the cancellation of CAP -- once again one of their =
streams is digital literacy but they only seem to recognize =
MediaAwareness (rebranded MediaSmarts) whose clients are mainly children =
and youth as speakers on the issue. There is a lot more to say on the =
subject and we are the only ones saying it. We need to make our =
presence known. Digital policy in Canada (i.e. the lack thereof) and =
CIRA's role in pushing for this is another important topic that should =
be raised. =20
Anyhow -- I will send out another message close to the date -- but I =
thought I'd just give you all a heads-up and urge you to register. (Let =
me know if you do so I can look for your name on the screen)
