Thank you for your email of January 23, 2014, regarding the Community Access Program (CAP) and sharing the results of the Pacific Community Networks Association’s survey of CAP sites.  I appreciate your taking the time to share your concerns.

As a recipient of funding for youth internships at community access sites, PCNA can fully appreciate our government’s objective to provide young Canadians with the vital skills and work experience needed to succeed in the digital and knowledge‑based economy.

Our government is committed to delivering a Canadian digital economy strategy that benefits our entire economy—one that challenges our innovators, drives new technology and provides reliable access for all Canadians.  We value the partnership we have established with PCNA and its views will be taken into consideration as we work to make Canada a more digital nation.
