Victoria Free-Net is partnered with Victoria Makerspace <http://makerspace.ca>. We both occupy the same building at the Vancouver Isalnd Technology Park. We are their ISP. We assisted in wiring their internal computer network and it is hard wired to us. We want to work with them to increase the network of volunteer hackers, DIY coders, and systems analysts available to bootstrap our own services and to apply those services to broader community development ends. We want to increase local capacity to act in the context of DIY, collaboration and crowd sourcing in resolving local problems. But currently we lack the resources to walk through an open door.

When I looked at SparkLabs under that Telecentre.org umbrella http://www.telecentre.org/programs/sparklab/ I was a little put off by the constrictions of the agreement they wanted. But it may be worth another look as a simple route to connecting any Canadian network internationally.

So, yes, we are interested in partnering.
