The Free-Net is researching ways in which we can be of more assistance
to
our community, particularly to not for profit organisations. As part of
this effort, we submitted a letter of intent to HRSDC.
The Free-Net has now been invited by HRSDC to submit a Job Creation
Partnership
Proposal, that will provide 4 presently unemployed or underemployed
persons
with valuable work experience. The proposed project will focus mainly
on the
design and development of e-commerce sites for local not for profit
organizations. The e-commerce sites will be tailored to the
participating
not for profits needs, and deal with issues of security, databases, and
other relevant issues regarding financial transactions online.
The Free-Net is of the opinion that not for profits could benefit
immensely
from an e-commerce presence, not merely as a fundraising tool, but as an
efficient enhancement of services and form of communication. It is our
hope
that you may consider this project worthy of your support. If so, a
letter of
support on your letterhead, addressed to Programs Officer, Service
Canada,
Greater Victoria and sent to me would be most welcome. Sending such a
letter as an
e-mail attachment will be fine. I will be happy to try and answer any
questions you
may have.
