Industry Canada has announced that federal funding for the Community =
Access Program (CAP) ended on March 31, 2012:

Some CAP regional coordination agencies are mounting spirited protests =
of this move (eg. Saskatchewan, Quebec, and Nova Scotia). Here=92s the =
Nova Scotia CAP Association=92s Save CAP website: http://www.saveCAP.ca/

In BC, the Pacific Community Networks Association (PCNA) has set up an =
online form to let you describe whether you actually believe that CAP =
has met its objectives and how its cancellation will affect your =
community: http://forms.pcna.ca/email.htm

Here in the Victoria area, the first media coverage of CAP=92s sunset is =
as follows:
Jeff Bell, Library budgets altered to keep users logged on, Times =
Colonist April 11, 2012: =
http://www.timescolonist.com/technology/Library+budgets+altered+keep+users=
+logged/6440634/story.html#ixzz1rko65qCL

The article mentions neither the South Island Community Access Network =
not Victoria Free-Net=92s role in coordinating it. However, the =
question of how or whether to approach coordination of digital inclusion =
programming in the Capital Regional District would now appear to be =
solely SICAN=92s to address?
