The rainbowamazons list is a list I created for lesbian and bisexual women who are survivors of childhood abuse. On this list you can let your hair down, laugh, cry, ask for support, act silly, act serious, share your feelings with other survivors who have "been there and done that." You can even get into a virtual food fight. Any woman can join if she is a survivor and is lesbian/bisexual OR respectful and supportive of lesbian and bisexual women.

I don't have a lot of rules, but I've found a few are necessary:
1) Respect others' triggers.
2) No flaming. My definition of flaming is personally attacking another person; for example, respectful disagreement would be saying something like: "I don't agree with you" or "I don't like what you said." Flaming would be saying, "How could you say something so stupid!" or "You are an idiot for saying that!"
3) No threats of suicide. It's okay to say "I am feeling bad, I feel like killing myself" but please do not say, "I am going to kill myself." If you think it is possible you will try to harm or kill yourself, please get help from a professional.

If you were abused, it IS NOT YOUR FAULT. None of us asked to be abused. We were children and we were hurt by those we trusted to care for us. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. There is help. Look in your phone book under "mental health" or "counselling." Or talk to your doctor or a member of the clergy that you trust.
