the first time, A parent education program tailored just for dads will be
available at The West Side Family Place.

$7.00 for non-members &
$5.00 for members. Pay as

ABOUT
THE 8 WEEK COURSE
The 8 week
course is a parent-education program designed specifically to support fathers.
Mothers and Grandparents are welcome to attend, however, it is with the
intention of supporting the fathers role in the family.
LEVEL
1 PROGRAM OUTLINE:

Session 1:
Building The Fathers Self Worth/Self Esteem and applying this to your children

Session 2:
Identifying The Coping Strategies Used During Times of Stress/Conflict
-
Session 3:
Identifying the Father’s and Children’s Stage of Development(fathers
developmental contributions)
-
Session
4: An Overview of the Processes of Family Law,
Income Assistance, Housing, Child Protection Services, Legal Aid and FMEP.

Session 5:
Starting the Father Involvement Assessment Scales ©(lists 120 ways a father
is/can be involved with his children).

Session
6: Completing the Scales and Review.

Session 7:
A Review of Each Sessions Objectives and Participant Generated
Discussion.

Session
8: Graduation.
Who Can Attend?
All
dads are welcome! Mothers and paternal grandparents are also welcome to attend,
however, it is with the intention of supporting the fathers role in the family.

Mr. Thisdelle is considered a local
expert on father-child relationships within the discipline of family therapy. He
is Nationally recognized for his work in this area. THE CANADIAN COUNSELORS
ASSOCIATION HAS NATIONALLY AWARDED THE TRAINING MATERIAL BEING USED, IN MAY OF
1999.
