[Advisors] meeting with Industry Canada -- Dec. 8th

Absolutely Lynda. There are four children who huddle outside the doors of
the Torrance community centre cap site next door to me (A CAP site thanks t=
o
Lynda Rickard and Phyllis Ingram).. These kids are reading off mobile
phones. It's all they have. CAP is crucial for our area - one of the lowest
income areas in Ontario (of course the feds think Muskokans are all rich so
that's an ongoing problem).
ALSO, without watering down your message, I'd still like to see an ongoing
reminder that we need better tech. The Cap site here has such low bandwidth
that kids can't take courses, etc, on it. But there's really no ability to
expand. I'm just up the street and can't stream video successfully, etc, a=
t
under 2 megs up and down via wireless radio. Still no DSL here or anything
else to choose from except for the even worse option - satellite. At least
we're connected, but I was out for a week last month. And GUESS WHAT - I wa=
s
saved by a neighborhood CAP site or I might have lost even more work than I
did.

Let me know if anyone wants to write a nice email to Tony Clement and cc
this IC fellow in.

Without Internet, I would be on social assistance - there are no other jobs
for me here than writing for the web for clients in urban areas.
