Good Afternoon everyone,
I am stepping in for Marie Preb this is Cherylynn Walters in Saskatchewan.
Our Library system here is also hit very hard by the CAP cut, however they
were able to get a meeting and commitment from the MP to take forward to the
Saskatchewan Caucus a new strategy to address our existing needs. Tony
Clements was in the Province yesterday and is taking the stand that the
numbers are down on cap site visits so the need is no longer there. We are
saying that the need is still there and that the people using it really need
it for all types of activities. We go into a meeting with the Library
system in a few minutes so I'll keep everyone up to date.

Hi everyone,
Just speaking with the our local organizer of the Volunteer Income Tax
Program: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/volunteer/
We host the volunteers and CAP supports the machines, connectivity, and
technical support as it is all done online. I am sure many of you do this
too. Apparently last year half a million returns were filed through this
program, 20,000 in Nova Scotia alone, at no cost to Revenue Canada.
The volunteer organizer has spoken with the Revenue Canada Coordinator to
say that CAP is the support for the volunteers and now it's gone. She was
shocked and quite upset and is going to bring it up with her superiors. If
you have a contact, you may want to bring this to their attention.
