That's insane! I agree that food scarcity is an issue but it seems to be s=
o far outside of CATA's mandate as to be a joke. Marita, you are totally c=
orrect in stating that they need to re-think their altruism.

Ottawa, August 15, 2012... Canada's largest high tech association, CATAAlli=
ance, continues its "Refrigerator Campaign" call for Donations today, as pa=
rt of its corporate citizenship to support feeding families in troubled tim=
es. John Reid, CEO of CATAAlliance, said "It is very important for citizens=
and organizations to step up their volunteerism to fill growing social gap=
s. Food Banks are experiencing a significant increase in client demands."
For the Food Banks to effectively operate in providing a 3 day nutritious s=
upply of food it is critical to have adequate refrigeration space to hold t=
he fresh items.
One of the local Food Banks is in dire need of three refrigerators required=
to store purchased and donated food from the local community and the Ottaw=
a Food Bank.
Reid added, "When we were approached to help raise funds to buy new refrige=
rators to replace outdated ones, we designed a crowd sourcing fund raising =
solution and then began to link to digital media. Within minutes three cont=
ributions appeared for the cause."
