Just to shift direction a bit, here's a thought.  Remember that one key =
to hacking the future of community networking is to figure out what =
conventional wisdom is, and then do the opposite.  There's a special =
supplement in the April 21-27 edition of the Economist on "The Third =
Industrial Revolution," where manufacturing goes digital and therefore =
can ignore economies of scale.  It includes this quote:

which might be called SOCIAL manufacturing.

Oh the delicious irony.  After a century of business telling the social =
sector to become more business-like, suddenly, the social sector will be =
telling business how to become more social!  Act fast, because 18 months =
from the switch point, the Chambers of Commerce will be claiming they =
invented it.
