> I am sending you this message to inform you of an organizational change involving the National Access Programs Directorate (NAPD). Effective May 1, 2014, the National Access Programs Directorate program authorities will be transferred from the Science and Innovation Sector (SIS) to the Digital Policy Branch (DPB) of the Spectrum, Information Technologies and Telecommunications Sector (SITT), led by Chris Padfield, Director General.

> Beginning in May, Josie Brocca and Sheila Smail of the DPB will oversee the management of the CFS, the Technical Work Experience Program and the Youth Internships at community access sites. They will be following up with you soon. The Digital Policy Branch is responsible for the implementation of the recently announced Digital Canada 150 initiative. The Digital Canada 150 is designed to be an open and flexible plan, capable of providing Canadians with the tools they need to fully embrace the opportunities of a digital future. NAPD is directly aligned with the objectives of Digital Canada 150 and will make a direct contribution to its ultimate success.

La Direction des programmes d’accès nationaux changera de secteur et passera du Secteur des sciences et innovation (SSI) à la direction générale des politiques numériques (DGPN) gérée par Chris Padfield, au sein du Secteur du spectre, technologies de l’information et télécommunications (STIT), et ce, à partir du 1er mai 2014.

> DGPN, sous la supervision de Josie Brocca et Sheila Smail, assureront la gestion du programme OPE, du programme d’acquisition d’une expérience professionnelle (PAEP) et des stages pour les jeunes dans les centres d’accès communautaires (SJ). Elles communiqueront avec vous dans un avenir rapproché. Cette direction générale est responsable de mettre en œuvre de l’initiative numérique Canada 150 qui a été annoncé tout récemment. L’initiative a été développée dans le but d’être un ouvrage flexible et ouvert, permettant ainsi d’offrir aux Canadiens tous les outils nécessaires afin de participer pleinement dans un avenir numérique. Le travail effectué par DPAN cadre bien avec les objectifs de l’initiative numérique Canada 150 et contribuera vraisemblablement à son succès.
