The use of a river basin like the Amazon can only be governed along the lines of what Eleanor Ostrom called a common pool resource.  Appropriation of .amazon by Amazon would interfere with the complexities of common pool resource governance.  It would be allowing a corporation to begin the appropriation of a commons.
