Ya, she jumped the queue -- and she had already spoken.  What people
won't do grab the talking stick.🙁 I will get other opportunities to use
the content I put together.

I did however, get my point in re: the Can. gov't process -- I really
wanted them to hear that.

Thanks for the info re: the tunis mtg.

Too early in the day for a drink -- but I feel like getting one. This
kind of stuff can be stressful.

So the range of experience expressed was impressive. But then folks like that are really good at grabbing microphones! For those of you who didn’t watch, a woman jumped the speaking queue, forcing Marita to be the very last speaker with the clock running out and her time reduced to 2 minutes! All her diligent preparation got slighted. However, having TC be a participant on the platform is a success. And, as Marita has noted, there’s more forums to come.

>> In doing some background research for this, I recalled that here in Canada, TC was part of a consultation in 2005 preparing a statement from Canadian civil society. Representatives from numerous NGOs were asked about their views on the plan of action that emerged from WSIS Phase 1 and the prospects for Phase 2 in Tunis. It was called "Paving the Road to Tunis - 2005." I think Garth was there and perhaps also Clarice. I remember a very effective presentation by Gareth Shearman and Peter Frampton. This was an in person meeting funded by various government departments but under the auspices of Foreign Affairs.

I will be bringing up the Canadian experience -- maybe some of the Canadian members of the Government Advisory Committee will be intrigued and even interested in repeating this. I am pretty sure that none of them were around for the first version so would not know about it.
