Hello advisors. Andrew's conversations with experts on leading IT topics
are always interesting. You might want to put this in your calendar for
Thursday. Video will also be available if the time doesn't suit.
This topic is trending around the world. Biden has just issued an
executive order in an attempt to establish safety and security
standards. Next week, there will be a summit in London. This is a very
"hot" topic:
"The British media have dubbed it the "doom summit." On Wednesday and
Thursday, November 1 and 2, at Bletchley Park north of London, Prime
Minister Rishi Sunak's government will hold the first global conference
devoted to the risks associated with artificial intelligence

I hope you will find interesting my conversation this Thursday with
Bianca Wylie, a prominent tech governance advocate. It will focus on the
AI and Data Act (AIDA) currently before the Canadian Parliament, but
view it in a wider than usual context. If you are not able to
participate live, the event video
<https://cfe.torontomu.ca/events/what-would-governing-ai-democratically-canada-look> will
be posted the following day on the website of the Centre for Free
Expression.
Please pass this on to anyone else you think may be interested.
thanks,
Andrew
