Portal affect the Web community in Victoria? With millions spent on the
project in Coquitlam/Port Moody, Cogeny has ideas for other communities. How
will the local internet community react?  Check out

Community Access websites, Online Government, and Smart Communities are an
evolving part of the promise of the Web. Come hear the latest reports from
Kirsten Koppang.  Possible roundtable at end of presentation.
Kirsten Koppang of Cogeny is a consultant for the Smart Choices Society,
working towards a Community Portal for Coquitlam and Port Moody.

The Community Portal will eventually deliver one-stop shopping for community
services, recreation, culture, transportation, government and business
everything from booking theatre tickets to checking bus schedules to voicing
concerns to city hall. It will also provide gateways to many other on-line
services focussed on education, community safety, business and government.
Smart Choices is about giving people options to "access their community
their way".

All WEAV members and members of the public are welcome to our general
meetings. (Guest fee $3.00 at the door is applicable to your membership fee
if you decide to join at the meeting.)
