The Arrgonat is an interesting piece of B.C.'s maritime history. She was built for the Powell River Co. as an executive yacht until 1937. She was later bought by the united church and became one of the mission boats bringing medical supplies and religion to settlements along the coast until 1966. It feels like it must have been a good time, when boats of all kinds brought life up and down this wild coast.
I was nurse maid to the Arrgonaut for a few years doing interior work and planking repairs.
