Very similar in construction to the black skiff, this model is totally symmetrical and can be rowed in either direction. According to loading and weather conditions she can be made to weather cock, if she is a little down by the head, she will steer herself to windward, much more efficient than constantly correcting as the wind blows the bow off. This skiff is based on the small ships boat found within the Gokstad viking ship from approximately 900 A.D. which is truly one of the great masterpieces of all time. This model is also flat bottomed, and rows very well.
