Hi Brian
Maybe we should be promoting a program that bundles libraries and CAP
sites together in a federal literacy program -- digital and otherwise.
I wouldn't assume this government is out of touch. They are just
using what has become a convenient argument for them, and one that
many of their supporters will buy without really thinking about
it. It is a pattern that works very well. Insinuating that crime
rates are high, they have just successfully passed a draconian crime
bill to reduce crime when the crime rates have been steadily dropping
for years.
There's little place for rational thinking in the policy world these days.
