About Me
My parents named me George Edward Godwin but to avoid confusion with my dad, George Alfred Godwin - Cdr, Canadian Navy(ret.) - everyone has always called me Ted.
I was born here in Victoria, B.C. as were many of my family and especially my son Sean and my daughter Brigid. I love this city and Vancouver Island in general. I am looking forward to raising my kids in one of the best places to live in the world.
I graduated Esquimalt Secondary School in 1985 and went to the University of Victoria where I graduated with a B.A. majoring in history in 1989. It was while at University that a joined the Society for Creative Anachronism and met Jacquie, whom I eventually married.
I also love to travel and study history. I currently work at UVic in the McPherson Library. For now most of the travelling I get to do is in books and magazines and of course the internet. My wife and I enjoyed a trip we took to Europe and England several years ago and that was just enough to whet our appetites for more. Maybe when the kids are older...
