ABOUT ME

I was born May 8,1968 in Powell River, BC, Canada, which makes me a Taurus, for those of you who care about such things. I currently reside in Victoria, BC. I live with a bossy orange tabby cat named Puff, and a calico kitty named Callisto. About Puff and Calli I am a lesbian, with some bisexual leanings, (or is that a bisexual with lesbian leanings?) a feminist, a Christian and a cat-lover (naturally). I am currently in a relationship with someone quite wonderful, my boyfriend, John. About Me And John. I attend St. Aidan's United Church, part of the United Church of Canada. My preferred profession is in the area of library and information science.Signs Your Librarian is Nuts. I am a volunteer facilitator of the gay, lesbian bisexual and friends discussion group on Victoria Telecommunity Network. I am a survivor of verbal and emotional abuse and childhood sexual assault. Yes, I am a lesbian/bisexual (whatever you want to call it, I don't fit into labels that well), and yes, I AM a Christian. Some people do believe that being gay/lesbian is a sin. I do not believe that, but I hate to argue. I am not a Biblical expert, a theologian, or an expert in the ancient languages the Bible was written in. I am not a neurologist, psychiatrist or genetecist so I can't say whether or not homosexuality is genetic, or neurological, or a mental illness. All I know is that I did not choose my attraction to the same sex or my attraction to the opposite sex. I believe that God created me with this orientation and God would not condemn something that God created. Instead of going into all the Biblical/religious arguements myself, I have provided some Queer-Friendly Religious Resources instead.

I love books and reading, preferably mysteries, fantasies, and some science fiction, and ANYTHING about cats. I even run a mailing list on Yahoo Groups for discussion of books with cats in them (see "Mailing Lists I Manage" on the Main Menu). I decided to make a list of my favourite tv shows rather than trying to cram them all into one paragraph. :-)
